Like every other electronic module or part it has life-time and eventually it will wear out and fail at some point. Is it safe to drive with auxiliary battery malfunction ? Got Auxiliary Battery Malfunction on my dash yesterday. Today, in addition, there was a message that read Change Key Battery. Interestingly enough, Distronic Plus Inoperable message and Highbeam Assist Inoperable messages started too, along with parktronic not working - maybe related?
Anyway, after dome poking aroun it seems the AUX battery is either in the trunk or lower drivers side. It say auxiliary battery malfunction in the dashboard. Any help is most appreciated. Car is W2Avantgarde, still under warranty. So u may want to be sure if there is a boot battery.
If your car only battery , it powers everything including starter, just like jap car. Aux battery is a small battery under side dashboard. Where is the battery located? It has an Auxiliary battery in the trunk next to the main battery and I am getting an auxiliary battery malfunction on the dashboard.
After some research it turns out it is sort of a consumable and it is not unexpected to need changing after years. Had an issue with my W2estate with auxiliary battery malfunction. This stopped the ECO function working (maybe no bad thing!) and sometimes stopped the HOLD function operating.
