Shoreline building codes

The Shoreline Municipal Code is a continuously evolving document made up of ordinances adopted by the City Council. These ordinances set standards to maintain safety, protect and quality of life in Shoreline. You can also find audio from some recent State Building Code meetings. Adoption of referenced codes.


Washington State and the City have adopted the International Codes published by the International Code Council. The International Codes are designed for adoption by state or local governments by reference only.

Jurisdictions adopting them may make necessary additions, deletions and amendments in their adopting document. Each lot must contain only one front yard setback and one rear yard setback except lots abutting two or more streets, as illustrated in the Shoreline Development Code Figure 20.
