A country with estimated population of million and one of the biggest economies in Arab World has a huge potential for eco-friendly services. The country is known both for its austere form of Islam and for its oil wealth. To the west, the Gulf of Aqaba and the Red Sea form a coastal border of almost 8km (1mi) that extends to the southern part of Yemen and follows a mountain ridge for approximately 3km (2mi) to the vicinity of Najran. Saudi Arabia is bounded by seven countries and three bodies of water.
The land (desert) rises into hills and mountains in the west and southwest, along the edges of the Red Sea. Mountain ranges include the Hejaz in the northwest, and the Azir in the southwest. It is separated from Israel and Egypt by the Gulf of Aqaba.
The wetlands and rivers of Mesopotamia border the Gulf on the north. The official language is Arabic. It occupies an area about the size of the United States east of the Mississippi River.
With an area of 830square miles, this country is the fifth largest in Asia, and the second largest Arab country, falling second only to Algeria.
